Enhancing packaging and shelf-life strategies for Live On Chocolate
Cynthia Riddle, Conestoga Food Research & Innovation Lab
Live On Chocolate partnered with Conestoga’s Food Research & Innovation Lab to support packaging development and explore ways to extend the shelf-life of their signature truffle products. The project involved designing a retail-ready display carton and recommending a corrugated master shipping case suitable for transport and in-store display.
Conestoga researchers developed and presented multiple carton prototypes and divider options over several design rounds. A custom master case and pallet configuration were also provided to streamline logistics while protecting the product throughout distribution.
To support shelf-life extension, the team offered guidance on ingredient and process considerations to help preserve product quality over time. These efforts support Live On Chocolate’s continued growth and commitment to delivering high-quality confections to customers.
Funding for this project was provided by the National Research Council Canada.
