The SMART Centre, established in 2020, is a dedicated hub for applied research, technical services, and training with a focus on advanced manufacturing, artificial intelligence, machine learning, cybersecurity, and advanced recycling technologies.
Occupying over 13,000 square feet of space equipped with cutting-edge technology, the SMART Centre fosters an interactive environment where faculty and students collaborate to provide industries with innovative solutions for manufacturing and cybersecurity challenges.
As part of the network of Canada’s 60 NSERC-funded Technology Access Centres (TACs), the SMART Centre stands as a beacon of state-of-the-art applied research and innovation across the nation.

Conestoga students compete against top universities in international business competition
A team of five Conestoga students enrolled in the Supply Chain and Operations Management program and International Business Management program faced-off against universities from Canada and the United States in a virtual simulation competition on Friday, March 25.
Usage of Blockchain in Canadian Supply chains
As COVID-19 took hold as a global pandemic, the integrity of supply chains were compromised. The robustness of supply chain integrity can be improved through improved organizational collaboration and communication. As organizations look to shore up their supply chains, by improving efficiencies and effectiveness, blockchain technologies may be a catalyst for change over the coming years.
Software that calculates sustainability metrics
Working with The Owl, the Centre for Supply Chain Innovation developed a software application that helps automate and simplify the calculation of sustainability metrics on post- or pre-shipments as carbon footprint or plastic pollution. With a specific focus in SME, sustainability frameworks are now more accessible in their daily decision-making processes.
