Smart lock development for Kargobox

Porch pirates are a growing concern for Canadians and the supply chain industry. To combat this issue, Focus21 has developed an outdoor secure package system called Kargobox. When a customer places an order online, Kargobox integrates with the shopping application and relays the information to the shipping company. The app also provides tracking information so that customers can monitor the progress of their delivery.
When the delivery driver arrives with the package, they scan a QR code on the Kargobox, allowing the customer to confirm the delivery. This process ensures that the package is delivered to the intended recipient and not left vulnerable to theft. However, to ensure the device's security, Focus21 partnered with the SMART Centre to develop a prototype smart lock system and software architecture for a smartphone app.
The smart lock system is an essential component of Kargobox, ensuring that the packages are secure and inaccessible to unauthorized individuals. The software architecture for the smartphone app enables customers to manage their deliveries efficiently and remotely. The app allows them to track their deliveries in real-time, receive notifications when their package is delivered, and unlock the Kargobox when they are ready to retrieve their package. Thanks to the collaboration between Focus21 and the SMART Centre, the Kargobox system provides a secure and convenient solution for online shoppers, delivery drivers, and retailers.
