Gary Hallam

Gary Hallam is the senior vice president of International Education, Government & Community Relations at Conestoga. He has worked at Conestoga for over 17-years and has previously served for 12-years as the executive dean of the Schools of Business and Hospitality. Prior to joining Conestoga, he spent five years as faculty and chair at George Brown College in Toronto. Gary completed his undergraduate degree in management economics at the University of Guelph, and later completed his master's degree in international hotel management at the University of Buckingham, England.
Prior to joining Ontario College’s, Gary spent 15-years in the food and beverage, catering and the special event industries. In addition, Gary taught for several years in the hospitality and tourism degree program at the University of Guelph while consulting with a point-of-sale software and hardware developer.
Gary has recently served on the board of directors of Accelerator Centre (AC) in Waterloo, the board of directors for the Canadian Technology Triangle (CTT), the Waterloo Economic Development Advisory Committee, the board of directors for the Ontario Tourism Education Corporation (OTEC); volunteered on the Oktoberfest Community Advisory Council; was a judge on the Ontario Hostelry Institute Top 30 under 30; and has served on a steering committee for the Canadian Tourism Human Resource Council (CTHRC).
