Linda Sheiban Taucar, RN, B.Sc., B.Sc.N, M.Sc.
Director, Centre for Health Care Research & Innovation
Linda Sheiban Taucar is the director of the Centre for Health Care Research & Innovation. She has been part of the Conestoga community for over ten years. She is a registered nurse and the former associate director, Health Sciences Research and Schlegel Associate Research Chair at the Canadian Institute for Seniors Care at Conestoga. Linda also oversees the Leadership in Senior Living program at Conestoga.
Linda received her bachelor of science and master of science degrees at the University of Waterloo in health studies and gerontology and later went on to pursue her bachelor of science in nursing at York University after being inspired by the clients and clinicians she engaged with through her education and work experiences, including her time as a live-in care aide.
Linda uses her joint clinical and research knowledge to lead applied research activities and advocate for nursing best practices. Her research interests include internationally educated health care provider transition into the Canadian health care system, health care provider best practices, health care user and caregiver outcomes and experiences, seniors care, digital health, and simulation. Linda co-authored the third edition of Ebersole and Hess’ Gerontological Nursing & Healthy Aging in Canada textbook.
Linda has had the privilege of teaching in the Enhanced Practice for Internationally Educated Nurses and Personal Support Worker programs at Conestoga. Linda also sits on the Board of Directors at the Canadian Association on Gerontology.
