Surajit Brojabasi, PhD

Professor

Surajit Brojabasi, PhD, is a professor at the School of Applied Computer Science & Information Technology at Conestoga. In addition, he holds faculty positions at the School of Engineering Technology at Mohawk College and at the School of Health Sciences at Fanshawe College, . With over 15 years of research and development experience, Dr. Surajit’s current research interests include healthcare analytics, data analytics, public health safety, environmental analytics, machine learning and AI, quantum technology for medical imaging, and nanotechnology for sustainable development.

Surajit’s academic background is extensive, holding a PhD in physics with a focus on soft and biological materials, quantum and nanotechnology from Homi Bhabha National Institute, India. He also earned a M.Sc. in physics, specializing in nuclear materials and radiation technology, and a B.Sc. with Honors in physics, mathematics, chemistry, and environmental studies. Additionally, he completed a Project Management Certification from Cornell University, USA, and an MBA (Essentials) from the Rotman School of Management, University of Toronto, Canada. 

Surajit's postdoctoral experience includes a postdoctoral fellowship from the Faculty of Engineering at Université de Sherbrooke, Canada, where he collaborated with the Quantum Institute at Université de Sherbrooke and McGill University, and an institute postdoctoral fellowship at the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, India. 

He serves as a reviewer for several peer-reviewed journals, including ‘The Royal Society Journals, RSC Advances, Materials Horizons, and Environmental Science: Nano.’ Dr. Brojabasi is also a lifetime member of the Indian Laser Association at the Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology, India.
