Tyler Williams
Packaging researcher
Tyler Williams serves as the packaging researcher for the Conestoga Food Research and Innovation Lab (CFRIL) at Conestoga, bringing over 25 years of expertise in the packaging industry. His areas of specialization include design and innovation, sales, management, testing and R&D.
Tyler graduated with honours as a packaging technologist from the packaging management and technology program, receiving multiple PAC awards and distinctions throughout his academic career.
In previous roles at MBI and Domtar, Tyler effectively managed daily operations in testing and development, ensuring that all packaging materials adhered to manufacturing specifications for production facilities across Canada. He played a key role in conducting and reporting on ISTA and UN testing procedures.
While at Smith Induspac, Tyler enhanced the design and innovation sectors by establishing an innovation center and integrating the creative team onto a unified platform. He also served as the primary liaison with various vendors and provided training to the internal team on new tools and processes.
Tyler has collaborated closely with major food and beverage manufacturers, including Maple Leaf Foods, Molson Coors, and Cargill. He has successfully managed large teams across multiple locations in Canada and the United States, with a strong focus on achieving excellence in design and innovation.
