Learning Together: Bridging the Generation Gap
Learning Together: Bridging the Generation Gap was a two-year project funded by the Government of Canada’s New Horizons for Seniors Program that connected seniors and their care partners with students, faculty, and staff to promote seniors’ social participation and inclusion while supporting students’ learning.
It consisted of virtual mentorship and learning sessions in which participants engaged in meaningful discussions about gerontological topics such as aging with pride, living with chronic conditions, and care transitions. Close to 70 mentoring and learning sessions took place between October 2020 and March 2022, involving:
67 seniors and care partners
79 faculty and staff
1716 students

With the permission of seniors and care partners, recordings of mentoring and learning sessions continue to be used for training purposes.
