Identifying IP landscape to position Vortex IP

Vortex created a novel architecture for a supercapacitor energy storage system in collaboration with Conestoga’s SMART Centre. C4C provided recommendation on positioning of the IP based on IP landscape analysis.

Dough Parlour created a process that produces playdough from food grade ingredients that is resistant to mold growth. They collaborated with the Conestoga Food Research & Innovation Lab to test the shelf-life for the mold-resistant dough. The Centre for Commercialization identified patentable subject matter and made recommendations on the IP positioning.

In collaboration with the CFRIL, Chilly Paste Co. created a proprietary formulation for a food paste that allows for quick meal preparation. The Centre for Commercialization provided an IP strategy to build a strong brand.

Identifying gaps in Terra Bioindustries' filed patent application

Terra Bioindustries created an extraction process that uses spent grains from breweries to produce protein and fiber products. They collaborated with the Conestoga Food Research & Innovation Lab to understand how this alternative protein source compares to other protein sources. The Centre for Commercialization identified gaps in Terra Bio’s filed patent application.

Identifying patentable subject matter at Ezok

Ezok is led by a student entrepreneur from the Conestoga Entrepreneurship Collective, which has created a novel insurance quote generation platform that produces quotes in real-time and provides high security against cybersecurity threats. The Centre for Commercialization identified patentable subject matter in Ezok’s back-end architecture.

Belco Doors created an innovative swing door elevator interlock that prevents the elevator from moving when the doors are not properly closed.
